(So Who was there???? hosted by movie mogul Harvey Weinstein and Vogue Editor Anne Wintour, the room was full of only Obama’s best pals… A-List CELEBRITIES: Among the guests packed around five tables in a basement room at the fundraiser were actress Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband, Coldplay singer Chris Martin, comedian Jimmy Fallon, designer Vera Wang, singer Alicia Keys.)
“It is the height of historical distortion to compare President-Elect Barack Obama in any way, shape or form to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. King “is probably the only person in American history who gave up a close relationship with a president,” Lyndon Johnson, “because his convictions demanded it.” Those convictions were anchored in King’s opposition to “racism, materialism and militarism.” Obama, conversely, makes common cause with financial speculators and militarists. Under the current system, “It is simply impossible to be both a fighter for justice and president of the United States” -Freedom Rider
Please do us all a favor Mr. Barry Sotoro and be a one term president/ Go get your job at Goldman Sachs or JP Morgan or GE you have lined up and leave us all alone.
Barack Obama disgracefully comparing himself to MLK, Jr:
And now that King has his own memorial on the Mall Ithink that we forget when he was alive there was nobody who was more vilified, nobody who was more controversial, nobody who was more despairing at times. There was a decade that followed the great successes of Birmingham and Selma in which he was just struggling, fighting the good fight, and scorned, and many folks angry. But what he understood, what kept him going, was that the arc of moral universe is long but it bends towards justice. But it doesn’t bend on its own. It bends because all of us are putting our hand on the arc and we are bending it in that direction. And it takes time. And it’s hard work. And there are frustrations.
I am a man of vices and I realize that Barry needs to have activities to take the edge off of the job as the leader of the free world but this is his 76th time golfing since becoming POTUS. Now I love to golf too. In fact I would love to golf more but I simply just can’t seem to find time and I am a single, selfish, self-absorbed man child with as much responsibility and full time obligations as one of those dipshyts on Real Housewives of whatever….76 days go golf is a lot. He has been in office for about 900 days so we are talking just under 10% of his time…and yes I know, the man is trying to relax, he is going on vacation to Martha’s Vineyard with his jetsetting wife and globetrotting little girls but how much vacation do Presidents normally get? I have worked for the same job for 9 years and the most vacation I ever took in a year was 2 weeks and certainly no more than 1 week at any given time. Mr. Sotoro will be headed to the Vineyard for 10days which seems really nice considering the economic meltdown we are going through at the moment…when I look back at the wall street dossier I see he took 4 vacations in 2009 for 58 days in his first year as President and in 2010 he went on 6 vacations over 32 days. Perhaps I have the wrong job???

President Obama went golfing today, heading out for the 18th time this year and for the 76th time in his presidency, but for only the first time in seven weeks, having somehow not gotten a round in FOR THE ENTIRE MONTH OF JULY.
Obama had not been golfing since going twice on the weekend of June 25, the last of an incredible 13 weekends in a row that he had made it out on the links. It seems with the debt ceiling showdown and other matters, Obama actually HAD TO WORK WEEKENDS, causing him to miss some golf.
He will certainly make up for lost time starting Thursday, when he leaves for a ten day vacation on Martha’s Vineyard. He’s out today at the Andrews Air Force Base course with one of his usual posse, White House trip director Marvin Nicholson, as well as Marvin’s lucky brother Walter and someone named Grant Campbell.
